Expedia Group, Carnival Cruises and News Corp to speak at the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit

Expedia Group Media Solutions’ Singapore-based director of sales for APAC, Gianluca Armando, will speak at the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit about redefining the rules of engagement for travel marketers when it comes to young travellers.

Armando will fly in from Singapore to explain how Gen Z is changing the way brands market travel

He will share research findings, and creative, insights-led, campaign examples which will provide a deeper understanding of what influences Gen Z purchase decisions. New global research from the business illustrates how younger generations are shaping the future of travel and suggests that there is a significant opportunity for travel marketers right now.

Armando has been with Expedia Group Media Solutions for over 11 years and has worked in a variety of regions including Italy, Spain, the UK and Australia prior to his role in Singapore.

Content marketing has been a significant connection point between brand and traveller, and the next iteration of it will be discussed on a panel.

Long, Smith, Andrews and Jaimeson will discuss the next phase of travel content

It will feature Carnival Cruises’ marketing director, Jayne Andrews, News Corp Australia executive director of content marketing, Simon Smith, Australian Media Traveller managing director, Quentin Long, and Grin Creative managing director, Justin Jaimeson.

The group will explore where content is heading for the travel industry in 2019 in light of surprise successes like slow TV and significant investment in content from brands including Avalon Airport, Luxury Escapes and more.

Childs will return to reveal the big trends in travel right now

Also confirmed is founder of MyTravelResearch.com, Carolyn Childs, who will return to present the significant trends every travel marketer needs to know for the year ahead.

She will cover a range of topics within travel, revealing how they played out in the recent past and what drove the change.

The newly confirmed speakers join a lineup which already includes executive director of marketing at the South Australian Tourism Commission, Brent Hill, CEO Asia-Pacific of FutureBrand, Richard Curtis, and co-founder of Storyation, Lauren Quaintance.

Mumbrella’s Travel Marketing Summit takes place on April 11 at the Four Seasons in Sydney. Tickets are on sale now at earlybird pricing. Entry into the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Awards is also open.
