Expedia’s Amanda Behre joins Gumtree Australia as head of marketing
Local marketplace for selling and buying, Gumtree, has hired Amanda Behre as its new head of marketing.
Behre joins the company from her previous three year stint as Expedia’s director of brand marketing and communications.
Before joining Expedia, Behre was Wotif Group’s head of partnerships and ad sales and Qantas Holidays’ head of consumer and trade marketing.
In her new role at Gumtree, she will be responsible for the brand’s PR, digital and performance marketing, CRM and trade marketing.
“I’m excited to be part of the team at Gumtree and to help continue to grow and innovate this household name.
“Gumtree has a place in the hearts of so many Australians – something that most brands could only envy. Everyone I speak to has their own ‘Gumtree story’, which so often involves that satisfaction associated with finding something unique, meeting someone new, bagging an amazing deal or ensuring that something valuable isn’t just thrown away,” Behre said in a statement.
Behre’s appointment comes one year after Gumtree rebranded for its 10th Australian anniversary.
Martin Herbst, general manager of Gumtree Australia, added: “We are thrilled to welcome one of Australia’s leading marketers to the Gumtree family. It is evident that Amanda is just as committed to nurturing our community, as she is to her own team. Amanda instinctively understands the importance of bringing customers, partners and employees on our brand’s journey.”
