Family surrounded by smiling animals and gnomes in Kia’s ‘Smiles all Round’ campaign

Kia has taken a “single-minded” narrative approach to its latest Sorento SUV ‘Smiles all Round’ campaign by focusing on smiles.

The television campaign aims to focus only on one idea and feature of the car, its 360 degree camera, rather than focusing on multiple features and ideas in the one ad.

Created by Innocean Worldwide Australia, the ad features a family of five driving past smiling sheep, dogs, gnomes and eventually a crocodile.

The Smiles all Round ad is backed to a cover of Nat King Cole’s Smile.

Steve Jackson, executive creative director at Innocean Australia, said in a statement: “A few things made me smile about this spot. Firstly, the single-minded narrative.

“More often than not everybody wants to focus on everything.

“Secondly, working with Noah Marshall again who, along with Blockhead, helped us create a really elegant tone for the spot. And finally, the singer, I was nervous about retaining the class of Nat’s masterpiece, but she’s rather fabulous I think.”
