Farmer Wants A Wife #1 in non-news as Seven wins the night

Seven’s Farmer Wants A Wife continued its strong run, claiming the #1 spot in entertainment programming with 767,000 metro viewers, in addition to the top spot nationally.

The program won a tight battle between the commercial networks in primetime, finishing ahead of Ten’s Australia Survivor with 730,000 metro viewers and also in front of Nine’s Beauty and the Geek with 607,000 metro viewers.

Australian Survivor performed well in the key advertising demos, winning 16-39 and 18-49, while it came in second to Nine News in 25-54.

In other entertainment programming, the debut episode of Ten’s The Cheap Seats brought in 460,000 metro viewers after finishing slightly later than its initial time coded for Oztam.

Seven’s Home and Away brought in 738,000 metro viewers, while The Chase Australia had 641,000 viewers in metro markets. ABC’s Ms Represented with Annabel Crabb had 585,000 metro viewers.

The overall top program was Seven News with 1.256 million viewers in metro markets, ahead of Nine News with 1.204 million.

Seven was the #1 network, bringing in a 32.2% network share, in front of Nine with 24.0%, Ten with 21.2% and ABC with 15.5%.
