Fifty Acres, Mahlab, Tiny Hunter, Core Agency and a gameshow confirmed for Mumbrella SAGE

Fifty Acres founder and Mumbrella CommsCon PR Leader of the Year winner, Jo Scard, is one of a number of senior independent agency leaders confirmed to speak at Mumbrella SAGE (Secrets of Agency Excellence) on February 21 in Sydney next year.

Scard will take the stage to discuss leadership and creating a great culture within an agency. Operating as a virtual agency with employees working from a range of locations, Fifty Acres provides an impressive case study for agency culture.

Following on from her CommsCon win, Scard will outline her principles for leadership and how culture has been fostered within the agency.

She will join Mahlab’s managing director, Bobbi Mahlab, along with Tiny Hunter’s leadership group consisting of Jodie de Vries, Emma Scott and Jo Gossage, TrinityP3 founder and global CEO, Darren Woolley, Core Agency co-founder, Christian Finucane, and Hyland Media founder Virginia Hyland.

The latter three will take part in a unique game show hosted by Woolley, along with international keynote Samantha Ramlu of Method in New Zealand, focused on the pitch process.

Titled ‘Pitch’n’, delegates will gain significant insights into industry leaders’ thoughts on pitching. They’ll get to know Woolley’s rules of the pitch process and become involved in a highly interactive session that may make the pitch more popular.

Meanwhile, de Vries, Scott and Gossage will present the story of branding agency Tiny Hunter’s creation – one which came from the merging of two independent agencies back in 2014.

The trio will explain the reasoning behind the merger, the journey the business went on as well as the challenges and opportunities in not just creating a new entity but coming to the conclusion that joining forces was the right thing to do.

Mahlab will talk about the risks taken that have kept her agency in business for 21 years – an agency that has gone from a custom publisher to a globally awarded content agency.

Mahlab will join Mumbrella SAGE to detail how the business has changed over 21 years

Under her guidance, Mahlab has adapted its service offering to meet the market and now employs writers, editors, strategists, designers, producers, publishers, social media experts, media sales and PR. It recently launched its PR arm with Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting as a foundation client.

Mumbrella SAGE is now in its sixth year and is aimed at sharing practical tips and insights into successfully running agencies of all types. The conference will take place at the Amora Hotel Jamison in Sydney on February 21 next year. Tickets are currently on sale at earlybird prices with more speakers to be announced soon.
