Ford, Lamborghini and a Bathurst 1000 winner to speak at the Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit in Melbourne
Ford Australia’s general manager of marketing Dani Winter, Lamborghini APAC CEO Matteo Ortenzi, and 2016 Bathurst 1000 champion and founder of Tekno Group Jonathon Webb will all speak at the Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit at the Sofitel in Melbourne on March 19.
Set to take place two days after the Australian Grand Prix, Ford’s Winter will speak on the back of the second race for the new Ford Mustang Supercar at the Melbourne 400.
Winter will reveal the marketing journey Ford embarked on with the Mustang through launching the division, the reasoning behind its return to Supercars and how building strong relationships garnered cut-through results in a crowded industry.
Ford also used a fan-first approach in order to gain relevance amongst Australian motorsports fans for the Mustang and Winter will reveal how this was done.
Lamborghini’s Ortenzi, meanwhile, will fly in from Singapore to discuss the new high-end consumer and how the super luxury brand is communicating with them.
An employee of Lamborghini since 2004, Ortenzi will touch on the brand’s new SUV strategy, its insights into customer interaction, thoughts around one-on-one relationships, and the widening of the consumer demographic interested in super luxury vehicles.
Founder of Tekno Group and winner of the 2016 Bathurst 1000, Jonathon Webb, will take part in a fireside chat with PickStar head of marketing, Andrew Montessi.
Webb has managed to build a successful business off the back of his racing exploits which also include multiple Supercar race wins. Tekno takes part in both the Supercar series as well as GT racing and has a road car division, Tekno Performance, as well.
In the chat he will discuss running and marketing both a competitive racing team as well as a consumer business, and the synergies between both, focusing on the marketing aspect.
The newly confirmed speakers join Formula 1 director of marketing and communications, Ellie Norman, who will provide the headline keynote at the summit
From memory, Will Davidson and Jonathan Webb hold the unique record of having won the Bathurst 1000 without actually having led any of the 161 laps.
