Former DAN veteran Nick Swifte joins Rapid Media as senior account director
Former Dentsu Aegis Network veteran, Nick Swifte, has become senior account director at advertising and communications agency Rapid Media, of which Group M’s Mediacom has a stake.
Swifte had served in various roles at DAN across 22 years, before his position as head of government solutions was made redundant last August as part of then-CEO Henry Tajer’s sweeping restructure.
However, less than a year into implementing the holding group-wide shake up, Tajer was ousted from the role, three months after the exit of Swifte and Indy Khabra, the ANZ managing director of Amnet whose role was made redundant at the same time as Swifte’s. DAN’s regional CEO, Ashish Bhasin, replaced Tajer with Angela Tangas, and CFO Reg Davidson with Jerome Whelan.
Rapid Media’s managing director, Vaughan O’Connor, said he’s known Swifte for almost two decades, and his departure from DAN was the perfect opportunity to make him a colleague.
“I’ve known Nick for close to 20 years and [we’ve had] a good, ongoing relationship. Obviously, with him leaving Dentsu, there was an opportunity for him to join our growing Melbourne team, which is now permanently located in market in Melbourne, so we have a team of four and that’s growing quite rapidly,” O’Connor told Mumbrella.
“Nick is a senior operator, he’s very good at what he does, and we’re thrilled to have him join our team.”
Swifte will work alongside Victorian state manager Gemma Moore in his new role.
