Foxtel Media appoints Nicole Florio as head of marketing and comms

Nicole Florio has been appointed as Foxtel Media’s head of marketing and communications, following the departure of Sarah Tucker who left to join LinkedIn at the end of last year.

Florio joins with extensive experience both in Australia and internationally, including as the former head of marketing for Fairfax Events.

Florio commences her role at Foxtel Media immediately

Most recently, Florio was executive vice president of marketing for Motiv Group in the US. She has also worked in senior roles across a variety of industries, including sports, tourism and hospitality.

In her new role, Florio will set and execute the brand and marketing strategy for Foxtel Media, including the media budget allocation and content and event development.

Foxtel Media, which rebranded from MCN several months ago, is the advertising arm of subscription TV business Foxtel. CEO Mark Frain said Florio already has many of the key relationships the business was hunting for in its new comms boss.

“Nicole has been instrumental in developing cutting-edge marketing and commercial strategies for some of the world’s largest events, and we’re excited to have her bring her skills and experience to Foxtel Media,” said Frain.

“Nicole already has strong relationships with key industry partners. These will be vital as she leads the trade marketing strategy for Foxtel Media and our channel stakeholders across all our owned, earned and paid channels.”

Florio said she was looking forward to the challenges ahead.

“I am thrilled to be back home in Australia and be working for one of the country’s most engaging and innovative media brands, Foxtel Media. The opportunity to work within this organisation in a period of incredible innovation is very exciting,” she said.

“I look forward to mentoring and leading a team of talented and dynamic marketing and communications professionals, as well as working with our partner agencies.”

Florio commences her role at Foxtel Media immediately.
