Fujifilm creates its own influencer island off Fiji

Imaging and photography company Fujifilm has created a private island off Fiji called Fuji Island.

Forming part of its first campaign from PR agency CampaignLab, Fuji Island is designed to give people the opportunity to use new Fujifilm cameras and have their holiday captured by photographers on the island.

Those holidaying on Fuji Island are encouraged to take photographs of the island’s biggest attractions, its sunsets, sunrises, lagoons and private beaches.

Fuji Island will also be a spot to host for the launch of new equipment for retail stores and a hub for influencers to promote the new products.

The campaign was launched weeks after PR agency CampaignLab won the account for Fujifilm. The win will see CampaignLab handle Fujifilm’s PR, events, digital marketing, video and content production.

Andy Scales, director of CampaignLab, said in a statement: “As an agency, we’re all about helping brands join the conversations their customers are already having. We know that Aussies are talking about and booking holidays based on how instagrammable the destination is, so we decided to take that to another level by creating Fuji Island.

“Ultimately we wanted to create the perfect backdrop to show off the capabilities of Fujifilm’s latest cameras in a way that would capture the interest of a wider demographic.”

Alex Zitser, national marketing manager at Fujifilm Australia, added: “As a business we focus heavily on innovation and ensuring we have the best photography equipment available. This has earned the trust of professional photographers and the plan is to now build on that and broaden our awareness in the mass market.

“From the moment we saw the concept, we knew this was something we had to do.”
