Gimmie customer gets a big head in first brand campaign via Rumble

Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) platform Gimme has launched a new campaign via Rumble, titled ‘It’s how we buy now’.

It is the first brand campaign from Gimmie since it was founded in 2020.

In the 30 second spot, a man tells his family about how he purchased a TV through Gimmie, with his head increasing in size each time the camera cuts to him.

Gimmie head of marketing Brendon Harrington said: “Gimmie’s specifically designed for customers who need a safe and responsible way to get those larger purchases and want flexibility to pay them off. Instead of requiring payments to be made over a few short weeks, Gimmie gives people the option to pay over one or two years, the way they get paid – weekly, fortnightly or monthly.”

Rumble’s creative director Bec McCall commented: “For a relatively young sector, BNPL is already such a crowded place for a brand to carve out its own space. Gimmie’s offering is disrupting the market and knowing the Gimmie team wanted to do the same from a comms perspective is the best kind of brief for Rumble – it’s been awesome working with them to create a brand and personality that will turn heads.”

The campaign is running on TV, programmatic display, social, YouTube, and BVOD.

There are also 15-second and 6-second cuts of the campaign video.

In June, Brendon Harrington joined Gimmie as head of marketing.

Other BNPL products that have launched campaigns in Australia include Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s Step Pay, Afterpay, featuring Rebel WilsonBeforepay and Zip, featuring Nick Kyrgios.
