Gosling to assist Digital Pictures on digital acquisition formats and post workflows

DOP Stuart Gosling signed a consultancy contract with the Melbourne-based Omnilab Media Company to advise their clients, as well as assist with the development of stereoscopic 3D solutions.

Gosling, who recently won an Australian Cinematographers Society award for his work on the short A Love Story, said that his role will allow the company to technically back up directors of photography, whether they’re shooting a 3D feature or even a YouTube project. He emphasised the importance of being aware of new technologies and paradigm shifts taking place within the industry.

“For many of us, film will be our first love, but adding digital cinema to the mix gives filmmakers, producers, and directors more options for achieving their visual goals,” said Gosling.

Digital Pictures is working on the 3D feature Sanctum, executive-produced by James Cameron and currently shooting in Queensland.
