GovTech Review enters joint venture with Public Sector Network

Westwick-Farrow Media’s GovTech Review magazine and research and events company Public Sector Network (PSN) have locked in a commercial deal, seeking to provide a diverse range of content for the government technology sector.

Under the new arrangement, GovTech Review and the Public Sector Network will look to provide more quality content and add-on benefits to current programs and platforms delivered by the two companies.

The partnership will see the two companies offer a stronger content offering to the government tech sector

The first joint venture edition will commence in June, with a security focus to mark support for PSN’s Australian Security Summit in July. The venture will also see the launch of a PSN monthly online newsletter to complement the news delivered from GovTech review and the magazine.

Geoff Hird, GovTech Review publisher, told Mumbrella the joint venture model was one all business to business publishers should consider.

“Publishers need to find new ways to secure the future of longstanding print brands, and alliances and partnerships are a successful way to do so – [it’s] sort of a hybrid between traditional b2b and custom media,” Hird explained.

“It’s a model that all b2b publishers should consider – especially with regards to securing the future viability of print magazines, as traditional ad page revenues on that side continue to decrease. Industry bodies and event companies continue to see the value of print media as it is a tangible benefit for members and for marketing their brand.”

For GovTech Review specifically, the partnership will allow readers to access PSN services, including their events and research.

Of the benefit to PSN, Hird added: “They were looking to deeper engage with a media brand to create more marketing and content distribution opportunities for their sponsors, and to engage with an audience that perfectly fits their business focus.”

The latest partnership is the third of its kind for Westwick-Farrow Media.

Last year, the publisher locked in a similar deal with the Swimming Pool and Spa Association. The partnership follows on from a deal with the National Safety Council of Australia Foundation.
