Grant Denyer leaves Sunrise again
Sunrise weatherman Grant Denyer today bowed out of the show again, telling viewers he was leaving to spend time with his young family.
Denyer was brought back to the show in 2010 after a four year gap by then executive producer Adam Boland.
News of the TV daredevil’s surprise departure was broken to viewers today.
However, host David Koch hinted that Seven has other plans for Denyer saying: “It’s not the last you’ll be seeing of Grant… he’s got a few sneaky things coming up.”Denyer’s stint with the show included a live TV first of presenting the weather while skydiving and more recently he drew worldwide headlines after passing out during a stunt.
Sunrise has enjoyed a ratings lead over Nine’s Today for several years, but recent weeks have seen the two shows running neck-and-neck.
Very sad news. Weather reporting is such a hard job I could see the strain it would put on anyone with a young family.

I imagine interacting with a greenscreen to appease the sort of people who watch morning programming would be very stressful indeed.

Good luck Grant. Cheryl’s been a very understanding wife so now it’s her turn to not to have to share him with Australia.
