Gumtree pitches creative account

Online marketplace Gumtree is pitching its creative account, Mumbrella can reveal.

In December last year, the brand hired Expedia’s director of brand marketing and communications, Amanda Behre, as head of marketing.

In 2017, the eBay-owned website redesigned its brand using the now defunct Naked agency, and design agency Pollen.

Pollen also created a social and owned-channels campaign for Gumtree in 2018, which took aim at time-wasters and dishonest sellers.

Gumtree’s senior marketing manager, James Walmsley, told Mumbrella of the creative pitch: “2019 is shaping up to be a huge year for Gumtree, as we continue to roll out improvements to our platform and deliver our vision to be Australia’s favourite local marketplace and be the number one motors marketplace.

“We periodically review our processes and partnerships to ensure we deliver the best possible experience for our users, as well as outcomes for our business, and this year is no exception.”
