Dr Mumbo

Gyngell vs Packer Taiwanese animation style

Dr Mumbo didn’t really think there would be a day three to the Gyngell versus Packer story but that was before the famed Tawainese animators step in…

The two minute video is a glorious blow by blow explanation of what happened, although Dr Mumbo does question the factual accuracy of certain elements, aka “highlights”, in the Taiwanese interpretation of the now infamous Bondi billion dollar brawl.

First off, David Gyngell was clearly not wearing shoes in the photos. He had come straight from a surf at Bondi and was clearly wearing his Sunday worst, tracky dacks and all, a detail the animators in Taiwan somehow missed.Screen Shot 2014-05-07 at 8.07.02 AM

Secondly, while Dr Mumbo loves the visuals of James Packer rising astride on his private jet when he eventually moves into the “skateboarding position” he questions whether the real life billionaire would have the skill and grace to pull off such a move. Screen Shot 2014-05-07 at 8.13.07 AM

He also has a shark fin in his back but everyone knows that bit is true right? Screen Shot 2014-05-07 at 8.16.56 AMScreen Shot 2014-05-07 at 8.16.43 AM

There’s also a bit where Miranda Kerr is shot at with lasers by a swarm of flying video cameras… we’re not really sure what that’s about.

Again he is not entirely sure about the factual accuracy but either way it’s very amusing… Screen Shot 2014-05-07 at 8.20.29 AMScreen Shot 2014-05-07 at 8.20.49 AM
