Hamish & Andy the injured party as Casefile snatches October podcast crown

Casefile from Audioboom has overtaken LiSTNR’s (SCA) Hamish & Andy, bumping the latter off the overall top spot for the first time since its March relaunch in the October Triton Digital Podcast Ranker.

Casefile brought in 993,418 monthly listeners over five episodes, followed by Hamish & Andy, with 941,049 listeners across four new episodes.

In third place was iHeartMedia’s (ARN) Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne, the show climbed up one spot with 479,601 listeners across 18 episodes this month. It was followed by Schwartz Media’s 7am, also up one spot, with 402,381 monthly listeners across 24 episodes.

iHeartMedia’s (ARN) The Kyle & Jackie O Show came close to the network’s Stuff You Should Know. While the former attracted 390,678 monthly listeners over 97 episodes, the latter brought in 352,026 with 18 episodes. Both went up one spot.

Earlier this month, Jackie O Henderson announced on-air she’s taking a break from radio due to health reasons.

Audiochuck/Stitcher’s Crime Junkie went up one spot to seventh place with 285,241 listeners over seven episodes this month, followed by iHeartMedia’s (ARN) The Imperfects with 281,722 listened to its five episodes.

Sitting at the ninth spot was LiSTNR’s (SCA) The Howie Games, with 274,298 listeners over 21 episodes. It is followed by News Corp Australia’s Shandee’s Story, which climbed 18 spots to the tenth, with 273,634 listeners over five episodes.

Overall monthly podcast downloads hit 72.2 million in October, a recovery from 70.9 million in September.

iHeartMedia (ARN) was again the top publisher with 3,712,451 monthly listeners and 19,323,975 monthly downloads, followed by LiSTNR (SCA) which came in the second spot with 2,858,040 listeners and 9,716,684 downloads.
