Hardie Grant reveals new editorial team for Virgin Australia Magazine

The new editorial team has been announced for Virgin Australia Magazine which will release its first issue under Hardie Grant Media in July 2019.

The title moved to the independent content and publishing agency after a competitive pitch process earlier this year which saw Pacific lose the contract.

Virgin Australia appointed Hardie Grant Media to its publishing and sales account earlier this year

Georgia Rickard has been named editor-at-large for the title. Rickard joins after previous roles as editor of Healthy Food Guide, editor of Australian Traveller and associate editor at Marie Claire. She then joined Fairfax Media as a managing editor on Tourism Australia’s overhaul of Australia.com.

Krysia Bonkowski has taken on the role of editor for Virgin Australia. Bonkowski has been with Hardie Grant Media since 2015 as the deputy editor, then editor, of Jetstar Magazine. The contract for Jetstar Magazine went to Medium Rare 10 months ago.

Assistant editor for the title will be Constantina Demos, who joins from various roles at Citrus Media including editor at Higher View and The Star and beauty writer for Women’s Fitness. Demos also works as managing editor of Hardie Grant’s This Week In Australia portfolio.

Hardie Grant Media publishes the monthly in-flight magazine and Virgin Australia’s digital content for its website and social media channels. The contract also includes media sales in print and Hardie Grant Media will be partnering with Virgin Australia’s internal advertising sales team on the commercial side of the publishing.

Virgin Australia has conducted several changes recently, also appointing Omnicom Media Group’s PHD to handle its media account after calling a review earlier this year.
