Head of Bauer Media’s custom arm Niall Murphy departs
Niall Murphy, the executive general manager of Bauer Media’s custom publishing arm Bauer Works, is departing the company, with director of operations Eugene Varricchio named as his replacement.
Murphy is departing the publishing business after almost 10 years where he has held senior positions both in Australia and in Hong Kong.
On his departure, Murphy said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Bauer and am proud to have helped build a strong brand publishing business. I look forward to watching its continued success.”
Varricchio joined Bauer in 2000, when it was known as ACP Magazines, as director of retail sales and in the time since has worked across roles including group general manager of retail and distribution and director of operations and retail sales.
Andreas Schoo, interim CEO at Bauer Media said: “Eugene has a deep understanding of retail, publishing and customer experience means he is perfectly placed to lead the business during its next phase of growth.
“I would like to thank Niall for his long service with Bauer Media both here and in Asia and for heading up Bauer Works during a critical period of its development. We wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”
Varricchio said: “I’m looking forward to working with our commercial partners and team of highly strategic and creative content marketers as we continue to build on the success Bauer Works has enjoyed over a number of years.”
Bauer Works has clients including Myer, CPA Australia, Telsta and Westfield.
