Healthdirect, VicHealth, WPP Health and Wellness and Sam Wood to speak at the Mumbrella Health Marketing Summit

Healthdirect Australia general manager of consumer health services, Andrew Bryant, and WPP Health and Wellness planning director, David Bailey, have been confirmed to appear on a panel addressing consumer misinformation at the Mumbrella Health Marketing Summit in August.

Bryant and Bailey will discuss the ongoing battle with consumers facing information overload and the wrong advice having potentially grievous consequences. With tight regulations on marketing, it’s more important than ever before to ensure that those with the right information can be heard above the noise.

The panel is just one of a number of sessions in the revised Health Marketing Summit which sees a new focus on the healthcare and pharmaceuticals in light of rapidly changing industry that is being disrupted in a number of areas. New sessions focusing on these areas will be announced in the coming weeks.

Also confirmed to speak is Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth) executive manager for marketing and communications, Stefan Grun. VicHealth recently launched the Australian version of the ultra successful UK campaign, This Girl Can.

The brainchild of last year’s keynote speaker, Tanya Joseph, Grun will tell the story of bringing This Girl Can to Victoria and reveal insights behind the campaign, how it has been adapted for Victorian audiences and the systems-focused execution strategy that has been put in place.

Organiser of The Big Anxiety festival, Bennett will elaborate on brand involvement in the promotion of mental health issues

Mental health has also been a significant talking point over the last year, and Professor Jill Bennett, executive and artistic director of The Big Anxiety festival, will join the summit to explain how it came about, why it’s important and how it has partnered with brands to make it work

Bennet will illustrate why and how mental health needs to be marketed in order to gain the attention it needs to make Australians aware that they have to address it. She will also look at the role brands play in that discussion.

WE Buchan’s Hudson and Aldridge will share insights into consumer engagement with the health industry

Also joining the summit to share top trends in consumer engagement in health is WE Buchan’s national general manager, Gemma Hudson, and head of health, Sarah Aldridge. Recently awarded CommsCon Large Agency of the Year, they’ll discuss the top trends in the industry, what strategies are working, what to look out for in the future and how to deal with the many challenges that being in health marcomms poses.

Wood will take the audience through the launch and growth of 28 by Sam Wood

Wellness hasn’t been left off the program with former Bachelor star Sam Wood taking the stage to discuss launching 28 by Sam Wood. A business that is gaining serious momentum, Wood will discuss how to gain momentum in a challenging market. He’ll be joined by head of growth for the business, Matthew Morgan in a special fireside chat.
