Helen McCabe pips Jackie Frank for Editor of the Year while NewsLifeMedia and Sterling complete doubles at Publish Awards
Sterling Publishing and NewsLifeMedia have taken out the Business Publishing Company of the Year and the Consumer/Custom Publishing Company of the Year gongs for the second year running at the 2015 Publish Awards.

HC Online, a news website for HR professionals, won the top gong of the night taking home the coveted Excellence Award after beating out Insurance and Risk to pick up the Business Website of the Year award.

Outgoing Marie Claire editor Jackie Frank missed out on the Editor of the Year for a Consumer/Custom category, her last chance for the award after handing over the editing reins to Nicky Briger after 20 years in August, coming runner up to The Australian Women’s Weekly editor Helen McCabe.
The Publish Awards rebranded from the Publishers Australia Awards this year and are the preeminent and longest running awards for the print and digital publishing industry recognising outstanding work by both large and smaller publishing companies.
Bauer Media’s Australian Women’s Weekly also dominated the Journalist of the Year (Consumer/Custom) category with Clair Weaver beating colleague Michael Sheather for the award.
Sheather did not go home empty handed, picking up the award for Single Article of the Year for his piece ‘Our daughter is now our son‘.
Elite Agent Magazine’s Samantha McLean won the Editor of the Year (Business) while Australian Pharmacist’s Andrew Daniels was named Journalist of the Year (Business).
NewsLifeMedia’s GQ Australia was named Consumer Magazine of the Year (above 20,000 circulation) while Brisbane-based Peppermint Magazine took home the same award for magazines with a circulation below 20,000.
Refraction Media, which produces Careers with Code, Science Meets Business and Knowhow magazine, was named Small Publisher of the Year.
In excess of 250 entries were received for the awards all judged by an expert panel of nearly 50 judges.
