Highway Patrol wins 1.1m for Seven as Big Bang Theory repeats take 25-54s

highwaySeven’s real life action drama Highway Patrol was the most watched entertainment show in all people last night however Nine held onto its key audience in people 25-54 with repeat episodes of The Big Bang Theory, according to OzTam.

Highway Patrol averaged over 1.1m metro viewers for Seven and was third in all programs after Nine News and Seven News, however Nine’s repeat of  the US sitcom averaged 736,000.

A second repeat of the show edged out Seven’s Air Rescue in all programs as Nine had 996,000 metro viewers for The Big Bang Theory’s second repeat at 8pm while Air Rescue averaged 930,000. The second repeat episode was also the most watched program in Nine’s key advertising demographic.

Meanwhile Ten’s repeat episodes of Modern Family and The New Girl averaged 495,000 and 346,000 for Ten, rating fourth in their timeslots behind the ABC’s Australian Story and 7.30 featuring Leigh Sale’s interview with Steve Carell of Anchorman.

Ten’s Homeland was also fourth in its timeslot, averaging just 393,000 metro viewers, while Nine’s repeats of American sitcoms 2 Broke Girls and Two and a Half Men drew in 721,000 and 514,000 metro viewers respectively.

Seven’s Bones was third in the time slot with 814,000 total viewers falling just below the ABC’s Four Corners in the OzTam preliminary overnight metro ratings.

Sunrise was the top morning program with 354,000 metro viewers on Seven as Today on Channel Nine averaed 317,000.

Wake Up on Ten averaged 24,000 viewers with 19,000 recorded in the early portion from 6.30am to 7am. And Studio Ten’s audience was 25,000 for the mid-morning show. The Morning Show on Seven had 172,000 and Nine’s Mornings 129,000.
