Host/Havas hired by the United Nations’ Free & Equal LGBTI campaign
The United Nations has engaged Host/Havas Sydney for its Free & Equal global public information campaign supporting LGBTI equality.
The appointment follows a global competitive pitch in which Host/Havas came up against a number of US-based agencies.
Host/Havas will reimagine the United Nations’ Free & Equal (UNFE) website, both visually and technically. The agency will work on the site’s architecture, implement a new content management system, and redesign its front-end.
The UNFE website serves to educate the world on LGBTI rights, challenges, definition and standards. It also showcases global campaigns and information advocating for the LGBTI community.
Rikke Hennum, UNFE campaign manager, was attracted to Host/Havas prior to the pitch due to its work on the Palau Pledge.
“Before the RFP was shared, the team at the UNFE really loved the simplicity of the Palau Pledge website and supporting advocation campaign. Host/Havas understood the importance and complexities of the project and our goals as an organisation and were able to translate this into a compelling, easy to understand website experience that will help support the advocation of LGBTI rights globally,” Hennum said.
Laura Aldington, CEO of Host/Havas, said: “We have a renowned and growing digital transformation capability, strong expertise in creating globally-recognised advocation campaigns, and a team who are passionate about LGBTI rights – this felt like the perfect opportunity for Host/Havas. We can’t wait to work closely with the United Nations to shine a light on LGBTI equality globally.”
Announcing a pro bono win is always odd. Odder when you reference Palau project and all the people that worked on that project have since left to consultancies or other agencies.
