House Rules beats The Voice while 24 fails to fire again
Seven’s House Rules has beaten Nine’s The Voice for the first time since the reality renovation show launched this year, helping Seven beat its rival in the overall ratings for Monday night.
House Rules scored 1.658 million viewers to The Voice’s 1.586 million and won all the capital cities in the 7.30pm time slot with the exception of Sydney where The Voice remains strong, according to OzTam’s overnight metro ratings.
Seven won the night with an overall audience share of 25.5 per cent to Nine’s 24.4 per cent.
Ten dropped behind the ABC in the night’s overall share with just 9.3 per cent to 12.7 per cent, down from Sunday night’s 14.8 per cent share for the ailing network.
Ten’s 24: Live Another Day starring Kiefer Sutherland failed to make the top 20 again in the 8.30pm time slot attracting just 325,000, trounced by Nine’s repeat of two episodes of The Big Bang Theory on 1.159 million and Seven’s Revenge on 801,000.
Ten’s MasterChef was down to 718,000 in the metro market, a drop from 948,000 on Sunday night making it just the 15th most watched show and was even beaten by ABC’s Australian Story at number 14 with 765,000.
Seven News came in at number three with 1.291 million followed by Nine News on 1.25 million for the 6pm bulletins.
Seven News/Today Tonight was number five with 1.208 million while Nine’s The Big Bang Theory and A Current Affair took spots six and seven with 1.159 million and 1.152 million viewers respectively. Nine News was next at number eight with 1.148 million.

In time-shifted viewing Revenge for Seven added another 200,000 viewers to boost it to over 1m metro viewers.

The Voice has been losing a few ratings timeslots, more so than previous years. It is probably in its last season. The talent this year has been very average. They’re suffering the same problem Australian Idol did after the third season – the barrel was starting to be scraped and the judges were making some questionable decisions.
