Ikea named Cannes advertiser of the year
The Cannes International Advertising Festival has named Swedish retailer Ikea as advertiser of the year.
The award goes to an advertiser that ‘inspires the innovative marketing of their products and which embraces and encourages the creative work produced by their agencies.’
“Ikea’s approach to its marketing and communications, with its decentralised structure and strong relationships with many different kinds of agencies, has been hugely successful over many years,” said Philip Thomas, Cannes Lions CEO.
In Australia, Ikea works with Three Drunk Monkeys, which won the advertising business in December last year, One Green Bean for PR, MediaCom for media, Match for communications strategy and Lavender for family CRM.
Will the Lions trophy come with undecipherable instructions and its own Allen key?
