Ikon faces pitch to defend RAC
Media agency Ikon Communications faces its first formal pitch to hold onto a client since the mysterious sacking of its senior team.
Last night the RAC said it had called a pitch and invited “a select number of agencies to present their credentials”.
The move comes three weeks after national CEO Dan Johns, national digital director Ellie Roger, people and culture director Leonie Kerley and data analytics director Bevan Davies were all shown the door.
New Ikon boss James Greet is not due to start at the agency until July.
According to the announcement: “The RAC has invited a select number of agencies to present their credentials including current partners Ikon and E-Mitch, as part of the first stage of the tender process. The RAC aims to make an announcement as to the successful partner by the middle of the year.
“The tender process aims to identify and select a suitable full service media agency that can offer both traditional and digital media services across a range of the RAC’s businesses including insurance and roadside assistance.”
Agency relationship consultancy P3 will be involved in the process.
