Indie creative agency nabs 72 and Sunny’s Robbie Wood

72 and Sunny’s Robbie Wood has been nabbed by a Sydney-based indie creative agency.

Supersolid, which was founded in 2023, has named Wood as its new director of business development.

Wood joins Supersolid from 72 and Sunny, where he spent two years as growth director. There, he worked with clients including the AFL, Stake, Culture Amp, Deputy, Princess Cruises, and more.

Prior to that, he spent nearly 13 years with FBI Talent Co, as a talent agent and head hunter primarily servicing the advertising and marketing industry.

Wood said there’s a “great energy” in the indie agency space right now. He said that “a lot of the most interesting and effective work in the country is coming from this side of the industry”.

But what drew him to Supersolid was its “approach” to creative, especially its “ROIdeas” proposition.

“ROIdeas opens up meaningful opportunities for marketers focused on driving real impact for their brands,” he said in a media release on Tuesday.

“The Supersolid team has already built a strong reputation for creative excellence, and their streamlined, no-layers model feels perfectly suited to the demands of today’s market. I already feel really at home, and I’m genuinely excited to be part of their growth.”

Jonathon Shannon, co-founder and creative director at the agency, described Wood as a “rare talent”.

There aren’t many people with proven experience on both sides of the agency growth equation. His strategic thinking and uncanny ability to rapidly connect the dots between client problems and creative solutions is exactly what Supersolid needs,” he said in the release.

Wood’s appointment comes off the back of Supersolid’s shortlist in the Emerging Agency of the Year category at the 2025 Mumbrella Awards.
