Indie media agency Pivotus appoints former Mediacom Vietnam MD as account director

Independent digital media agency Pivotus has hired Lam Le as the dedicated account manager on the University of Tasmania account, which the agency won last month.

Le – who is originally from Vietnam, and was previously managing director of Mediacom Vietnam – will be based in Hobart, and work on the university’s strategy, buying, and analysis business, while also growing the indie agency’s client roster in the state.

Le was also client leadership director at Group M stablemate Mindshare in Vietnam, before relocating to Melbourne, and back to Mediacom, in 2016 in a media planning consultancy role.

Most recently, he was a market development manager for Government Education and Training International in Tasmania.

“We are truly grateful to welcome Lam to the Pivotus team,” CEO Michael Petersen said.

“We really wanted someone in this role who was a motivated advocate for the region – and we’ve found that in Lam. He is committed to growing Tasmania’s business and education sectors and promoting the state as an attractive study destination.

“Lam’s extensive industry experience, strong connections to overseas markets and value-driven leadership will put him in good stead to manage on-the-ground for the university and drive its digital strategy. Tasmanian advertisers deserve the skills and service levels Lam brings and I’m proud that Pivotus can facilitate that opportunity.”

Le said he’s excited to be back in “agency land, working with a great team to deliver results for some of the largest businesses in the state”.

“Tasmania has a lot to offer – there are huge opportunities for Tasmanian businesses in both the domestic and international markets and many are now starting to invest heavily in marketing and digital strategies,” he said.

“Pivotus is a big part of that – it has a track record of delivering strong digital media strategy, while also harnessing its industry partnerships to deliver results. I’m excited to be part of the Pivotus team and look forward to working closely with the university to help attract the next student intake.”
