Initiative’s head of digital Andrew Davis quits to join start-up
Initiative’s head of digital Andrew Davis has left the Mediabrands fold to join near field communications start-up Tapit.
Davis moved from UM to Initiative last July to a new role of digital director.
Replacing him is Ashley Brown, who will run Initiative’s digital operation across its Sydney, Melbourne and Perth offices as national digital director.
Brown was previously head of digital at UM.
He will report to Henry Tajer, executive chairman at Mediabrands and acting CEO of Initiative since the departure of Tracie Michael in August.
Tajer said: “Under Mat Baxter as CEO, UM has a new model for resourcing its teams and clients with digital talent and the agency is moving quickly to apply those additional resources. UM’s digital focus will increasingly be in strategy work within client teams, which has brought about the opportunity to place Ashley’s experience and leadership at Initiative.”
Soooo.. tapit is basically an attempt to repackage what a QR code does in a sexier way?
