Initiative’s John Dawson relocates to Copenhagen
Initiative Sydney’s John Dawson has relocated to Copenhagen to complete his MBA.
Dawson, who was most recently the communications design director at Initiative Sydney, will continue his work with Initiative while completing his studies at the Copenhagen Business School.
During his time in Denmark Dawson will continue to work on global Initiative clients including LEGO and Carlsberg.
Sam Geer, chief strategy officer at Initiative Australia, said in a statement to Mumbrella: “We can all be really proud of JD in taking this opportunity to complete his studies and expand his already impressive education. He’s been a driving force behind our transition to a culture-based agency and we are delighted to offer him this special arrangement.
“We’re in close touch and looking forward to welcoming him home when he’s completed his MBA mission.”
Prior to joining Initiative Dawson was a strategist at Mindshare. He also worked at WPP’s media arm, Group M.
Must be a slow news day?

Sad to see John go hygge-hunting. I had good money on him joining the admiralty over at Mutiny.

A wise person once said your career is similar to a role-playing game. You spend fruitless hours collecting small, meaningless, virtual objects (let’s call them ‘seeds’ for brevity’s sake) only to see the difficulty level increase (such as moving to a country where your flaxen locks are table stakes) to the point where it’s not worth playing anymore. But then again, the same person couldn’t name the most effective fighting ship the Australian Navy has ever seen during peacetime.
