Introducing Mumbrella360: Reconnected – Australia’s biggest media and marketing conference reimagined

Mumbrella360, Australia’s largest media and marketing conference, will return on November 17-20 this year as Mumbrella360: Reconnected. It will feature an adjusted format to suit current regulations around social distancing and mass gatherings.

Mumbrella360 has been reimagined for the current environment

The new conference will take place over four days with a single stream of content each day. Day one and two will be filmed at The Four Seasons hotel in Sydney in front of a live audience. A limited amount of tickets will be available and are on sale now on a first-come, first-served, basis.

Day three and four will be shot in studio with speakers either joining via video conference or being filmed live in the studio. All four days will be streamed live online with virtual passes giving delegates access to all four days. Those who had previously purchased tickets to Mumbrella360 will get complimentary access to Mumbrella360: Reconnected as well as access to Mumbrella360 2021.

Some of the best known local and international industry speakers have already confirmed their involvement in Mumbrella360: Reconnected, including Rubicon Project’s New York-based chief technology officer Tom Kershaw, Kmint’s managing director, Kathryn Williams, Junkee co-founder Tim Duggan, McCann Australia’s new owner, Ben Lilley and more.

Rubicon Project’s Kershaw will speak from New York

Kershaw will discuss in-depth the four key principles that can save adtech. He will outline a road map for the adtech industry and examine how the new era of collaboration across independent tech companies is poised to be the industry saviour for both advertisers and the media sector alike.

During the session he will address industry concerns around the imminent shifts for the programmatic ad industry and spell out the risks it will face if vendors opt to go it alone.

Williams returns to the Mumbrella stage to argue for value ruling time when it comes to agency billings

Meanwhile, Williams returns to a Mumbrella stage after popular sessions at previous Mumbrella360 events. This time she will attack why value, not time, should be the new agency currency.

Williams will illustrate how agencies can flip their currency to create a revenue model based on the value of outputs. She’ll also argue that the consequence of not managing time properly typically results in agencies falling short of their revenue target.

Duggan, author of Cult Status and co-founder of Junkee, is confirmed to speak

In an all-new session, Duggan will take the stage to present ‘How to build a brand people actually give a shit about’.

The Junkee co-founder. -who has recently stepped away from a full-time role at the Ooh Media-owned business – has just released his first book, Cult Status, and will reveal some of the biggest lessons he learned from creating Junkee and trying to bring to life other ideas.

McCann Australia owner Ben Lilley will also take the stage

Creator of one of the biggest stories in the industry in 2020, Ben Lilley, will also speak at Mumbrella360: Reconnected. Lilley made headlines in February when he acquired McCann Australia, the very agency he used to run.

Lilley’s full-time return to the industry sparked significant interest and discussion. He will take the stage to explain exactly why and how he bought McCann Australia, what to expect from the company moving forward, how he has managed this challenging year, and what this surprising move might mean for the broader industry.

A limited amount of tickets to attend the first two days of the conference are on sale now

Also confirmed to speak is Grey Group president of global health and wellness, Jason Kahner, who will join virtually from New York, and founder of The Resilients, Nicola Swankie.

Kahner will share his experiences working for some of the world’s top brands as well as surviving and thriving in one of the most competitive advertising markets in the world. Swankie, meanwhile, will focus on topline techniques from leading academic opinions in organisational psychology, revealing how to give industry professionals the tools to deal with high-pressure situations.

Virtual and live audience tickets for Mumbrella360: Reconnected are available now. More sessions will be announced next week.
