Jacqui Feeney joins Australian production house Kentel as CEO

Former head of Fox Networks Australia, Jacqui Feeney, has been named CEO of Australian television production house Kentel.

Feeney will be charged with leading Kentel’s next phase of growth as it launches its first global streaming show, Luxe Listing Sydney, set to premiere on 9 July on Amazon Prime Video.

Luxe Listings Sydney was announced as part of Prime Video’s local content slate at its lunch event recently, with the six-part docu-drama series to be available in over 240 countries and territories globally.

Kentel founder James Kennedy, who is also the creator and co-producer of Luxe Listings Sydney, hailed Feeney as the “perfect fit” to lead Kentel to its next stage.

“Jacqui is a perfect fit to build on the current positive momentum at Kentel and realise our ambitious goals,” he said.

“Kentel is a proudly Australian creator of premium original entertainment content. Jacqui will help us specialise further in the development and management of high-quality content across an international platform, showcasing the Australian culture and way of life.

“We’re particularly proud to be the creator and co-producers of Luxe Listings Sydney which will be a great springboard for the company’s growth with Jacqui’s skills at the helm.”

Feeney was head of Fox Networks Australia from 2014 to 2018, and before that was the director of Presto and Foxtel On Demand. She recently has advised start-up businesses and founders on their growth strategies, and is a board director for Fishburners.

She brings experience in global media and entertainment across content creation, distribution, rights negotiations, as well as tech and innovation.

Of her new role, Keeney said: “I’m delighted to join Kentel as it is new, agile and ambitious to make its mark as an IP powerhouse leveraging its access to Australian stories and characters from all walks of life. Luxe Listings Sydney is just our start.”

“I particularly look forward to partnering with the many talented people, both on and off screen, that make the media industry tick as we bring remarkable, engaging and frankly great fun stories to local and global audiences and screens of all kinds.”
