JLL throws support behind new Olympic sport ‘sports climbing’ in Nat Geo content campaign

Real estate services company JLL has launched a content series on National Geographic, ‘Stories of Ambition’, which follows the stories of climbing athletes.

JLL is throwing its support behind the sport, that will make its Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, due to its lack of funding at an elite level.

The eight-part series follows six athletes from five different countries who have travelled to Japan to undertake an intensive training course using JLL technology.

JLL is seeking to raise the popularity of sports climbing – which requires athletes to succeed in speed, lead and boulder climbing – amongst young people.

The films were created by Sydney-based content and production agency The Precinct, in partnership with MKTG Singapore.

Mark Tipper, brand director for JLL Asia Pacific, said: “The Precinct really impressed us with their commitment and dedication to bringing our shared vision to life. Spanning five countries and a myriad of technical complexities in filming on some highly testing locations, the end results are truly a labour of love that are filled with engaging content as well as a veritable conveyor belt of gorgeous cinematography.”

Michelle Galluzzo, creative director of The Precinct, said in a statement: “Brands need to do much more these days to stay relevant. For JLL to back their brand promise and create original content about helping young athletes achieve their ambitions shows that they are incredibly influential on the world stage beyond real estate.”

All episodes will be available on National Geographic. The series will be supported by a global print and outdoor media campaign.
