John Howard to appear on Q&A
Former Prime Minister John Howard is set to appear on political debate show Q&A for the first time since 2007.
The annoucement:
Q&A is pleased to announce that former Prime Minister John Howard will join Tony Jones in a special episode of Q&A, live to air on Monday, October 25 at 9.35pm (AEDST) on ABC1.
This will be the first time Mr Howard faces questions from ordinary Australians in a live television interview and will coincide with the launch of his autobiography, “Lazarus Rising”.
Mr Howard has agreed to join Q&A to reflect on his extraordinary political career and take questions from the studio and online audience.
As always with Q&A, the live audience in the studio and online will ask the questions.
‘John Howard is the second longest serving Prime Minister in Australian history. This Q&A will be the first opportunity for the Australian citizens who elected him and eventually voted him out, to question John Howard on the crucial decisions of his Prime Ministership,’ said Q&A Executive Producer Peter McEvoy.
‘The Q&A audience are very adept at holding politicians to account. It’s an enormous challenge for any leader – past or present – to face the questions and judgment of our live audience.’
Members of the public can get involved in Q&A in a variety of ways:
•Go to abc.net.au/qanda to submit questions, and to upload video questions;
•Viewers can also contribute to the discussion via Q&A’s Twitter highlight’s feed, using #qanda and submit video and written questions via the website;
•And follow @abcqanda on Twitter to receive first-hand updates about the program and panel members.
