Joy hires former Ogilvy creative boss Steve Back and ZO’s Nicole Millward

Creative agency Joy has hired former Ogilvy Australia chief creative officer Steve Back and ZenithOptimedia strategy director Nicole Millward.

The announcement sent to clients:

It’s been a memorable few weeks in the ‘life and times’ of JOY.  Eighteen months ago we started with a vision, to create a new kind of agency.  One that was capable of not only creating, but connecting world class ideas in a new world dominated by multi channels, multi choices, a desire by the consumer for involvement and participation.

Our role in this new world is, to ensure there is clarity around vision and currency around implementation.

I am really pleased to announce that we have employed two outstanding new people who will help deliver our promise.

Nicole Milward will join ‘our family’ in a few weeks.  Nicole is acknowledged as a leader in brand and connection strategy.  She is a thought leader in connecting to ‘communities’, and has lead industry seminars on the new world  of connections.  Nicole has participated in global seminars, headed up global pitches and introduced mentor/training programs.  We are thrilled that someone of Nicole’s pedigree and experience has agreed to join us.

Joining Nicole will be our new creative partner/leader Steve Back.  Steve is again an acknowledged leader in the industry.  He has creatively lead some of the biggest agencies in our region achieving ‘Creative Agency of the Year’ status in each.  Steve has won numerous international creative awards in both NZ and Australia, with major clients.  Steve is passionate about the role of creative in the new world, and will bring an energy and freshness to our creative product.  Steve will start with us in the next few days and will announce some new creative hires in the next few weeks.

To complete our week, JOY was awarded Agency of the Year for Australia in the recent International EPICA Awards (they are judged by International journalists).

Our Senior Team is now complete, who, together with Simon Ludowyke (joined 12 months ago from BBH New York) will ensure that fresh, interesting thinking is a priority on your business.

Thank you so much for being part of the journey, look forward to introducing our new members shortly.
