Julie Bishop to keynote Mumbrella360, plus the female economy and Domain CMO confirmed

Australia’s 38th Foreign Minister and chancellor of Australian National University, Julie Bishop, is locked in to speak at Mumbrella360 2024.

Meanwhile, sessions on women’s power over the economy and how Domain Group’s chief marketing officer revolutionised her company’s marketing approach have been added to the event’s catalogue

With a life that has taken her from the grassy lawns of the Adelaide Hills to the stone halls of Canberra, Julie Bishop’s career has spanned the legal and political industries, allowing the country’s first female Foreign Minister to experience the highs and lows of power, the human condition and society.

Bishop’s experiences will inform her keynote, ‘Beyond the Glass Ceiling: Leadership Lessons from ‘the Only One in the Room’’.

Throughout her presentation, delegates will be given a masterclass in leadership and remaining stable under pressure – all valuable lessons that can be applied to their own organisations and brands, regardless of wherever they stand in the media and marketing industry.

And despite women like Bishop disproving outdated views on women’s places in professional settings, such as adland and politics, the idea that women are often overlooked and underappreciated still permeates industries.

It’s the basis for the next confirmed Mumbrella360 session, ‘The Power of the Female Economy’.

Moderated by SOCIETY founder and chief executive officer, Dena Vassallo, the session will let delegates hear from Optus’ senior director of marketing, Alexandra Sloane, and Future Women’s deputy managing director and author, Jamila Rizvi, as the all-female trio discuss what the creative communications sector is doing wrong in regards to addressing female consumers.

At the same time, the speakers will also be shedding light on solutions organisations and professionals in the industry can use to embrace the female economy, perpetuate greater gender equality, and ultimately, unlock more growth opportunities.

Another session, ‘The Art and Science of Delivering the Big Bets Without Getting Fired (Yet)’, is also focused on helping attendees discover growth opportunities – though with data.

Delivered by Domain’s chief marketing officer, Rebecca Darley, the talk will go over how Darley was able to to leverage science and art to transform Domain’s marketing practices into key factors for growth.

Solidifying marketing’s place in an organisation’s return-on-investment conversation – and knowing which tools, data and metrics to use – is at the core of Darley’s session.

The catalogue for Mumbrella360 is filled to the brim with star power.

72andSunny’s global chief strategist, the chief executive officer at Rêveuse, and LEGO’s general manager and vice president, are only a fraction of the business, marketing, media and communications experts gearing up to take the stage in less than three months time.

Officially, Mumbrella360 2024 will take over Doltone House at Jones Bay Wharf on May 21-23.
