Justin Armsden exits The Bureau of Business after three months, joins Icon Agency as head of media

Communications agency, Icon Agency, has appointed Justin Armsden as its head of media.

Just three months ago, Armsden was appointed as head of video for PR and marketing agency The Bureau of Business.

Armsden has already started his role at Icon Agency

Prior to his three month stint with The Bureau of Business, Armsden was the Victorian State Bureau Chief of A Current Affair at Nine Network for two years.

Armsden said he is confident he will bring expertise he has acquired from his 30 years in journalism.

“We’ve already hit the ground running with some fantastic projects, including finessing Icon’s media kit and producing Icon Insights video series, along with a string of monumental wins across the agency.

“As an integrated agency we are home to a wealth of talent, so we draw on our team of experts to offer valuable insights on a broad range of subjects. Whether it’s focussing on the ever-changing world of mainstream and social media or diving deep into the complex world of digital, creative and marketing, we help you gain a greater understanding.”

Joanne Painter, managing director at Icon Agency, said in a statement: “He will play a strategic role in issues and crisis management, as well as media training and presentation, arming Icon with the prowess in media other agencies can’t parallel.

“Having a media guru like Justin in house is something many agencies can only dream of. Justin’s addition to the team will further lift the calibre of our media training, issue and crisis management, and media relations. These are the fields that benefit particularly from profound experience in the industry, and hence Justin is a perfect fit.”

Icon has offerings which include PR, creative and digital and work with clients such as Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Furbo Dog Camera, Murray-Darling Basin Authority and CEL Australia.
