Kaimera looks to GroupM for new chief data officer

Indie media agency Kaimera has appointed Brett Camilleri to the newly created role of chief data officer.

Camilleri joins from GroupM Australia, where he has spent the last three years heading up the WPP media arm’s analytics team at the group level. He previously spent 14 years between GroupM agency Mindshare’s London and Sydney offices.

In his new role at Kaimera, he will play a pivotal role in elevating the independent agency’s data and analytics capabilities, leveraging data to drive effective media solutions.

Of his appointment, Camilleri said he was “thrilled and honoured” to take up the role.

“I look forward to working closely with Nick, Trent, and the team to leverage the power of data and analytics, driving innovation, growth, and value for our clients. Data is the lifeblood of any business, and I am excited to help Kaimera harness its full potential and become a data-driven leader in the industry.”

Kaimera founder and chief digital officer, Trent McMillan, added: “Brett’s exceptional skills in data and analytics will empower us to deliver powerful solutions that align with our core values of trust and transparency.

“At Kaimera we believe in simplifying media for our clients, achieved by bringing in senior professionals who are experts in their field. We are genuinely excited about the positive impact Brett will have on Kaimera’s growth and the continued success we bring to our clients.”

The appointment takes Kaimera to a headcount upwards of 40, with more hires planned for 2024.

The agency recently welcomed MLC to its client roster alongside the likes of Under Armour, Campos, Blooms the Chemist, and Yalumba.
