My Kitchen Rules semi-finals watched by 2.005 million

My Kitchen Rules had another stellar night with the second semi-final attracting a metro audience of 2.005m, preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam show.

Running for 90 minutes from 7.30pm it out-rated Nine’s double-bill of The Big Bang Theory with the first new episode attracting a metro audience of 1.117m while the second, repeat episode had an audience of 1.047m, while Nine’s movie premier of Contagion at 8.35pm attracted just 557,000 viewers.

Seven’s next highest rating non-news program was Home and Away which saw 1.036m metro viewers tune in, however it was beaten by Nine’s A Current Affair which had a metro audience of 1.151m at 7pm.

Home and Away did trump both Ten’s The Project and the ABC News, with the second half hour of The Project only seeing 574,000 viewers tune building on the first half hour’s audience of 444,000 while 905,000 metro viewers watched ABC News.

Nine News at 6pm was the highest-rating news program, with an audience of 1.232m metro viewers which dropped away to 1.145m in its second half hour. While the first half of Nine News did out-rate its rival Seven News, which had an audience of 1.232m, Seven News proved stickier with its audience only dipping to 1.230m in its second half hour. Ten Eyewitness News at 5pm had an audience of 648,000, its highest rating show of the night.

In the 9pm timeslot Seven’s Revenge reigned supreme with an audience of 877,000 against Contagion which started half an hour earlier. Media Watch on ABC1, which aired at 9.19pm had an audience of 582,000, which also trumped Nine’s movie and Ten’s repeat of an episode of Law & Order S.V.U which ran between 8.30pm and 9.30pm and took just 375,000 viewers.

An extra 181,000 viewers watched last week’s episode of Revenge on catch-up services, taking its audience to 1.095m.

Seven’s double episode of How I Met Your Mother at 10pm saw 364,000 metro viewers tune in for the first episode, with the audience dropping away to 299,000 for the second in what is the final series for long running the sitcom.

ABC1 trumped Ten with a share of 13.5 per cent while Ten lags behind on a share of 8.8 per cent. Ten Eyewitness News and the second half hour of The Project were Ten’s only two shows to make it into the top 20 rated shows.Seven’s won the night with an audience share of  28.2 per cent while Nine continues to sit in second place with a share of 19.9 per cent.

Ten’s double episode of Bondi Rescue saw 469,000 viewers tune in at 7.30pm, with the audience building to 487,000 for the second episode.

Blue Bloods, which airs at 9.30pm on Ten, had an audience of 280,000.

In 25-54s MKR, both episodes of the Big Bang Theory, Revenge and A Current Affair made up the top five most watched shows of the night.
