My Kitchen Rules tops the ratings as Seven wins the night

Seven’s My Kitchen Rules has taken back its top spot averaging 1.078m viewers from 7:30pm in the absence of Nine’s Married at First Sight, taking Seven to a Wednesday night victory.

The reality cooking show’s cruise canapé challenge was the most watched program for the evening and across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54), according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

In the competitive 7.30pm time slot Ten’s Biggest Loser Transformed didn’t gain many viewers from Tuesday night’s premiere audience of 450,000  pulling in just 453,000 last night. The second episode was the 19th most watched show of the evening.

Also beating the weight loss reality TV program was Nine’s Planet Earth averaging 650,000 viewers and ABC’s current affairs program 7.30 which managed 611,000.

In overall audience share, Seven won the night averaging 25.2%, well ahead of Nine’s share of 17.4% and Ten’s 11.7%.

Meanwhile ABC managed 11.4% while SBS reported a share of 4.3%.

Seven premiered its new crime series Million Dollar Cold Case at 9pm which averaged 644,000.

At 8.40pm Nine’s Murder Calls managed 488,000 and was beaten by ABC’s The Weekly With Charlie Pickering’s 526,000, which aired ten minutes earlier.

In the 6pm news battle Seven News saw 976,000 tune in ahead of Nine News’ 904,000. At 6.30pm Seven News pulled 958,000 while Nine News saw 890,000 tune in.
