Labor: Calling all piggy banks…
It’s election day and The Labor Party appears to be a bit short on cash…
Indeed they are asking supporters to break open their piggy banks for a quite specific amount of money: $467 to be precise.
A note to supporters from deputy director of advertising Jesse Northfield this morning explains: “I’ve been up all night monitoring our online ad buy (it’s the last chance we get to show our messages to voters), and I don’t think we have enough money for the ads we need to run.
“Polls open in a just a few hours, but we’re $467 short of where we need to be.”
Northfield goes on to ask for donations of $5 and above.
In an election campaign where both sides have spent millions on advertising, Dr Mumbo presumes it was either this or a chook raffle…
He also imagines as a micro-donation strategy the tacit was probably pretty effective.
Simon, we’ve got a problem.
Malcolm Turnbull wants to sell Medicare, etc, etc.
