Leo Burnett Sydney picks up Unibet

unibetLeo Burnett Sydney has been appointed to handle strategic and creative responsibility for online gaming company Unibet Australia.

Unibet Australia general manager Patrik Andersson said: “The  Australian  betting  market is  very  mature  and  it  was  very  important  to  find  a  partner  that  would  help  us  differentiate ourselves from our competitors.  Leo Burnett was the partner that best showed us the potential for Unibet Australia to do so both strategically and creatively.

“We felt that Leo Burnett  really stood out in the pitch process for their strategic understanding of our key target market and bringing it to life in a way that will really make an impact in the market.”

The appointment follows on from the agency being add to the Woolworths agency roster in March.

Leo Burnet Sydney client services director Pete  Bosilkovski said: “The underdog and challenger positioning are what particularly attracted us to the Unibet opportunity. Against the backdrop of a saturated market with competitors all making the same claims, we’re excited by the prospect of changing the game and helping Unibet to achieve their business expansion goals.”

ZenithOptimedia was appointed to handle the brand’s media planning and buying, and to create content for the brand, in June 2012.

Leo Burnett Sydney’s client roster includes Diageo, Kellogg, Samsung, Caltex, McDonald’s, Energy Australia, WWF, GIO, Earth Hour, Colonial First State and Procter & Gamble.
