Living Social awards Foundation $5m media business

Living Social has appointed Foundation to handle its $5m media business, with a brief to build awareness of the group buying site using television, out of home and online advertising.

Creative will be run out of the US for Living Social, which recently acquired Jump On It to enter the Australian market and quickly gain market share.

“We are excited to work with a dynamic company like Living Social and in on of the most aggressive business categories to enter the market in years, it’s dramatically changing the way people are buying,” said Martin Patton, MD of Foundation.

The Omnicom-backed agency, formerly known as Davinci Selectworks, rebranded in July 2010 after Davinci lost the global Chrysler business.

The new incarnation of Foundation appointed former McCann creative director Adam Searle to lead its newly formed creative department.

Living Social last week struck a deal with Commbank to enable the financial services group to make an early play in group buying by using its platform.
