Mad Mia

You may have noticed the ads for Madison Cookware on this site over the last couple of days. Perhaps you even clicked through, to discover Us / Razor’s latest work for SBS’s Mad Men.  

mia-freedmanThe provocative statement “The only thing that cooks better is a woman,” was a major clue that all was not as it seemed, while the company name was another.

It did trip up Mia Freedman though, who thought it was for real. The former Cosmo editor was somewhat outraged, taking to her Mamamia blog to tell readers:

“This isn’t a funny ad. IT’S DEADLY SERIOUS.”

Rather sweetly she even put a note at the end of her piece to thank the Us staffer who sent her the link.

But to give Freedman credit, although blog readers alerted her that it was a hoax within a few minutes of her posting, she’s left it up for the world to see.
