Mamamia’s Georgia Thomas and Bauer Media’s Lisa Wells to join News Corp’s The Australian
Mamamia’s national strategy director Georgia Thomas has exited the company after less than a year, joining News Corp’s The Australian as the new head of strategy and partnerships.
Kylie Rogers, managing director of Mamamia, told Mumbrella the women’s network was currently recruiting for Thomas’ replacement.
“I’m thrilled for Georgia, it’s a great opportunity for her, and she’ll add some real value over at The Australian. Mamamia is recruiting now for her replacement,” she said.
The Australian has also appointed Bauer Media’s head of direct sales Lisa Wells as deputy general manager of sales.
Wells joins News Corp after two and a half years at Bauer Media.
The Australian’s general manager of sales, Vaughan Cottier, said in a statement: “I am delighted to appoint both Lisa and Georgia into their respective senior roles. They both have demonstrated exceptional sales and strategic skills across print and digital platforms.
“Their passion and experience in the industry make them an excellent addition to our team as we continue to implement out sales strategy for Australia’s largest premium national and business multi-platform portfolio.”
Both Wells and Thomas will report into Cottier. Wells starts on July 18, while Thomas will start in mid-September.
Congrats Lisa Wells, such a professional and inspirational leader. Very well deserved promotion.
