Mark creates iPhone app for NRMA

M&C Saatchi’s digital arm Mark  has created a free iPhone app for NRMA Insurance which offers users a comprehensive vehicle database.

The announcement:

NRMA Insurance today launched a free iPhone app that will enable car buyers to have valuable research at their fingertips.

The free Car Inspector app, created by Mark, contains all the latest safety, security and environmental information for most new cars available in Australia.

It provides a search and comparison tool for vehicles tested and rated by the NRMA Insurance Research Centre or other independent organisations and allows users to request a quote for their car insurance by placing a call directly to NRMA Insurance.

NRMA Insurance Research Centre Manager Robert McDonald is confident the app will be a major asset for car buyers and could even save lives.

“Many Australians are missing out on potentially life-saving technology innovations like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which can help prevent a crash. Drivers should be mindful of things like crash performance and driver visibility, as these are vital considerations for anyone buying a new car.

“NRMA Insurance Car Inspector enables drivers to read about most new cars in the Australian market while they’re on the go, wherever they are. It’s like having an expert with them in the car yard.”

Mark Executive Creative Director Gavin McLeod said the app was designed to make the wealth of information held by NRMA Insurance as accessible as possible for people in the market to buy new cars.

“The NRMA Insurance Research Centre works with the automotive industry to carry out testing and data analysis to advise consumers on car safety issues.  What we have done is visualise that information in a very user-friendly format to give car buyers all the ammunition they need to make the absolutely right purchase decision.”

The app enables users to search for specific car models or scroll through set categories including small, medium and large cars as well as people movers and luxury cars. There is extensive information about each vehicle including safety ratings, fuel consumption, estimated annual fuel cost, environmental score, anti-theft rating and much more.

Users can compare a vehicle to the best in class of each category at the click of a button. It is also possible to compare multiple vehicles, swiping left or right to view different vehicles in portrait or landscape setting.
