Mark Ritson to share secrets of building engagement for return of LinkedIn Agency Influencer program
Contrarian marketing academic Mark Ritson will share the secrets of how he creates huge engagement on his posts on LinkedIn at two events to mark the return of the Agency Influencer program.
The competition, returning for its third year, is designed to encourage advertising professionals see the benefit of finding their voice on the platform, with LinkedIn data showing the one of the most effective ways of engaging with senior executives is by penning long-form content on the platform.
This year the program is being expanded to include anyone working in a media, creative or marketing agency. There are also two categories with a general classification, and another which recognises participants who have been in the industry for less than five years, with the aim of encouraging emerging talent to showcase their thought leadership.
Last year more than 300 people shared hundreds of blogs and thousands of articles as part of the program, which saw GroupM’s Greg Graham win the prize of a trip to New York, after penning a series of posts on how to perfect your presentation skills.
“LinkedIn Agency Influencer encourages everyone in our industry to find their voice, to share their opinions and expertise. This professional knowledge sharing is big part of the value LinkedIn brings to our members, and how we make them more productive and successful,” said Matt Tindale, MD LinkedIn Australia AUNZ.
Ritson will be one of the speakers appearing at launch events in Sydney and Melbourne on June 14 and 15, while Daniel Hochuli, LinkedIn’s content marketing manager for APAC, will give tips and tricks for creating better content at the event.
“We were deliberate in our choice of Mark as a keynote speaker for the launch events. As someone who has carved out a unique voice in the industry he is a great example of the diversity of opinion that we have on the platform, and the importance of healthy debate,” explained Helen Girdlestone, head of agencies for LinkedIn AUNZ.
A panel featuring leading competitors from last year, moderated by Mumbrella’s Tim Burrowes, will focus on their strategies for creating compelling and thought-provoking content and creating engagement.
