Married at First Sight helps Nine win its first official ratings week of the year
Married at First Sight has narrowly delivered Nine its first weekly win of the official ratings period, with Seven finishing a close second in total metro audience on a strong performance by My Kitchen Rules.
Nine finished off the third official ratings week of 2018 with a main channel share of 22.13% ahead of its closest competitor Seven on 21%.
ABC yet again pipped Ten to third position with 12% ahead of Ten’s 11.7%. SBS’ One provided the network with a 4.6% main channel share.
Nine’s performance against Seven was stronger in the demos, beating the channel 25.7% to 20.2% in the 24-54 age group and 27.5% to 21.2% in 16-39. Over in the 18-49 age group, Nine achieved a 26.9% share compared to Seven’s 20.6%. In grocery buyers with child, Nine achieved a 27% share compared to Seven’s 20.8%.
The most-watched show of the week across total people was Married at First Sight with 1.530m metro viewers, while the news battle was won by Nine’s Sunday offering with 1.075m metro viewers. Seven’s Sunday night news show came in second place with 1.015m viewers.
The first four most-watched programs across the all demographics’ metro audiences were all Married at First Sight.
