Masterchef tops key demographics for Thursday night TV
Masterchef has attracted a metro audience of 824,00, making it it was the most-watched non-news program for Thursday night television.
The program, which aired on Ten at 7.30, was the most-watched show across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.
Last night’s episode was an elimination round, which may have helped the show to beat Nine’s 611,000 metro viewers for RBT.
In sport, Seven’s AFL match between the West Coast Eagles and the Geelong Cats managed 632,000 viewers, with 291,000 of those being in Melbourne.
In news for the evening, Nine News at 6pm was the most-watched show for the evening with 1.108m metro viewers, beating Seven News’ 1.001m.
At 6.30pm Seven News/Today Tonight pulled 968,000 ahead of Nine News’ 960,000.
In overall audience share Seven won the night with a 19.4% share, beating Nine’s 16.5% and Ten’s 15% share.
Meanwhile ABC grabbed an 11.3% share ahead of SBS’ 4%.
