According to LinkedIn, Cairns is now working as a consultant.

McEwan started at Ogilvy in 2010 as a group business director and has since been general manager, managing partner, and finally joint managing director of the Melbourne office.

Previously, McEwan has worked at DDB Group, BBDO Worldwide and Clemenger BBDO.

M&C Saatchi CEO, Jaimes Leggett, said McEwan was “absolutely the right person for the agency”.

“We’re thrilled Michael is joining the agency. He’s razor-sharp – equally at home in a strategy session as he is judging creative. But perhaps most importantly, he’s an incredible people -centred leader, well respected by staff and clients alike,” he said.

McEwan said of his appointment: “I’ve been fortunate to work with many talented and wonderful people – it’s what motivates me and M&C Saatchi is a formidable brand with an enormous depth of talent across the group. With its strong focus on innovation, I’m really excited to be joining the team. This is a tremendous opportunity and the natural next step in my career.”

Mumbrella has contacted Cairns for comment on his departure.
