M&C Saatchi Melbourne hires creative duo

M&C Saatchi Melbourne has added to its creative offering, hiring duo art director, Jake Blood and copywriter, Josh Thompson.

The creative duo have worked in agencies across Australia and New Zealand, picking up several awards for their work. They left for New Zealand in 2018, and have now returned with their appointment to M&C Saatchi.

They have previously worked with clients including Toyota, Sky Sport, Westpac and Pak’n Save.

Blood said: “I’m pumped to be back home in Melbourne and part of M&C Saatchi Melbourne team. It’s been incredibly rewarding helping win new business and seeing the agency grow. The office is just 50 meters from the South Melbourne Dim Sim shop, which is also incredibly rewarding.”

Executive creative director at M&C Saatchi Melbourne, Emma Robins said: “Jake and Josh were just squares to use for a long time while they worked remotely from NZ. But now they’ve finally arrived, and we’ve seen the rest of them, they’re anything but”.

“They’re talented, good humans, who’ve been thrown in the Melbourne deep end, pitched their faces off and kept a smile on them all at the same time,” continued Robbins.

Since Michael McEwan’s appointment as managing director in 2019, M&C Saatchi Melbourne has picked up several accounts, including Origin Energy and World Vision. McEwan replaced Andy Cairns in the role.

In March, M&C Saatchi MD Russell Hopson was replaced by Sian Cook, MD of the Sydney office, and Michael McEwan, who are sharing the duties.
